Capsules and labelling machine for wine

1. Dispencer - heat shrinking head - Linear labeller

Description: gai_6013

The capsules are dispensed on the infeedscrew:

The dispenser is controlled by a PLC, which synchronizes its functions with the movements of the capsuler. A photocell authorizes the dispensing of the capsule only if the bottle is corked. The neck of the bottle is centered by a pneumatic clamp, and the capsule is pressed onto the neck by a piston, which can fit capsules with only a minimum clearance from the neck of the bottle. A second pneumatic piston adjusts the capsule so the top is perfectly positioned for sleeking. Rapid, precise screw adjustment positions the discharge nozzles in height and length. Capsules of a different diameter and length can be used by changing the dispenser glass. The feeding of the capsules is controlled by a belt conveyor.

Good heat-shrink capsuling requires the following:

• capsules of good quality
• correct coupling between capsule and bottle
• a good shrinker.

The main advantages of our heatshrink capsuling heads are:
• High unitary rating of 1,5 kW
• Extended irradiation surface area
• Precise temperature regulation by means of an electronically-controlledresistance. (The temperature reached can be read on a display)
• Accurate ventilation
(The flow ofair accompanying the movementof the bottle is adjustable in terms of both phase and intensity)
• A pneumatic safety device raises the heads when the capsuling machine stops to avoid burning and breaking.

Linear labeller:

The combined construction qualities of GAI machines, and their extensive labelling knowledge has resulted in a new, high quality linear labelling machine. A photoelectric cell detects bottle presence, and the thrust carriage pushes the bottle against the rotation/press roller to apply the label.
The robust thrust carriage slides on ball bushes, and is adjustable with double tilt to accommodate bottles with a taper of 1.5 degrees. The bottle rotation roller has its own drive-motor controlled by inverter and combined with an encoder linked with the dispensing speeds of the label stations, which in turn are controlled by the PLC. The PLC in turn controls all other signals for notch detection, cap spots etc.
The complete machine is managed by the PLC, controlled by a touch screen panel. Each model has two options, with 3 or 4 labelling stations.

2. Rotative labeller - Labelling station

The rotary labellers are made with carousel diameters of 432, 540,720, and 960 mm. The choice of carousel diameter is depending on the number of labelling stations required and on the production output required by the customer. The bottle platform rotations is managed either using mechanical cam or an electrical control system. The mechanical cam system utilized is very versatile, and all platforms are manufactured such that a bottom of bottle search unit can be incorporated. Special shaped bottles can also be accommodated. The mechanical cam can be specially designed depending on customer specifications and labels utilized.

Starting from the model 7540, this machine can be equipped with automatic set of stars, self-adjustable to the diameter of cylindrical bottles. A turret with electrical plates offers greater flexibility, especially when bottle orientation is required on a already encapsulated bottle with a crest or mark on the capsule. If transparent or long labels are used this is also the preferred option.

The "electronic cam" is a microchip on the control board independently driving (via a CAN-BUS standard) each stepper motor. This software has been completely conceived and developed by our technicians in GAI. It is possible to preset the movement start point, the direction and the time, as also the speed of the movement. This combination enables the operator to perfectly accommodate different labelling variants. The result is a very flexible labelling machine.

The labelling stations are entirely designed and manufactured within our company. Movements are obtained through the use of stepper motors or by brushless motors. Label stations are made in stainless steel, and have vertical, horizontal and angular movement. All setting are displayed with particular numeric indicators. The paper path is marked on the station to make easier the replacement of the labels. Label station managing is centralized on the control board. A special station for the application of certification or DOCG seals (with double sided tape) is also available. The seal can have either a ÒIÓ or a collar band position. The stations are accurate a range of ±1mm of standard application.
